I am feeling silly right now because I'm moving my blog again. :D :D :D

Go there from now on!
I think I just can't stand the advertisements on LJ, and I don't think I should subject my dear visitors to them either.

I have just returned home from a trip to Eastern Canada. I visited many museums and art galleries, and these are some of the sketches that resulted from it. I think I rather enjoyed looking through museums alone at my own pace. I prefer sketching over taking photographs, since I tend to remember stuff better that way. The sketches that I made at the Museum of Nature in Ottawa, ON turned out to be the best since I actually spent as much time as I wanted in there. It was a good few hours of fun, until the museum closes the door at 5:00pm.

I guess this doesn't need any explanation :)
May be kids don't play that nowadays.....
I skipped about two months worth of Illustration Fridays. I need to get back into the habit.

Something else I drew that isn't for IF, but somehow fits this week's topic as well. I was listening to Jack Johnson's "shoe box of photographs and sepia-toned lovings" so it is sepia. (It's actually diluted burnt umber ink.)
This is something that's pretty old but not so old, from only half a year ago or so.
It is based on The Grimm's Brothers' Godfather Death. There are many variations of the same story, and this one is quite heavily modified to my own taste.

( The rest of the 39 pages behind this cut )
Any comments would be appreciated.
I am wondering if I should redraw it for the reasons of printing, because colour printing is expensive. That is also the reason why only a few spreads are in colours. There are also things that I would like to improve on, like the drawing, the panel layouts. Mostly just the panel layouts, because the size ratio of the page make it rather difficult to split panels (this may be personal preferences) so I am tempted to redraw the whole thing and possibly reduce the page count.

So I did some work for the Edmonton Journal the last week.

Watercolour is my tool of choice.

Printed :D
Personally I'd use hand-rendered font, but well....

Other things that I did using vector. There was quite a bit of font + software incidents. They were painful. Oh, and changes down to the last minute.

There was one other one that I forgot to take picture of...
One day, I hope there is something that give me more time.

Lately I found myself using Rockwell way too much.
I think blogger bugs me too much to want to keep on using it, so I'm using live journal instead! :D

I haven't been drawing much lately. I need to get back to the groove.
